How long have you been practicing massage therapy?
I have been practicing massage therapy since 2012.

What is your favorite subject to teach?
My favorite is chair massage.

What would you tell someone who is considering massage therapy school?
I would tell them that it was the best decision that I ever made! If you care about nurturing and caring for people, and you want to make a living wage right out of the gate, go for it!

What is one thing you wish you had known before you became a massage therapist?
Before I became a massage therapist, I didn’t know that massage is relaxing for the therapist as well as the client. You can’t be worrying about bills and laundry and your grocery list while you’re working. If you’re stressed, your client will be able to feel it. It’s really nice to be able to zone in and let it all go while you work.

Name one person who has had an impact on your life and explain why:
My husband has made a huge impact on my life. He has loved and supported me, while still making sure that I have room to grow as a person. He’s awesome.

What is your favorite thing about teaching at Central Maryland School of Massage and why?
My favorite part of teaching at CMSM is that I am helping students to develop tangible skills that they can use to support themselves and their families.

Vacation…beach, woods, desert, or mountains?
Where would I like to go on vacation? Anywhere. As long as its warm.

Favorite meal?
My favorite meal would be sushi, macaroni and cheese, and tiramisu for dessert

Favorite quote?
Life is all about who you choose to spend your time with.

Describe your most significant interaction with a client or student:
The most significant interactions that I have with students are on the days that they finish the last of their clinic appointments. It’s a huge milestone in their massage school career, so its an honor to share it with them. I also enjoy being in class for the students’ first day of school. Massage school made a hugely positive impact on my life, so I like to be there for the beginning of their journey too.
