Bernadette is a 1983 graduate of the Florida School of Massage and a 1995 graduate of the I.M. School of Healing Arts. Her advanced studies include The Trager Approach®, Continuum Movement®, craniosacral therapy, Integrated Energy Therapy, Reflexology, and Level 3 Reiki. She is continually exploring ways to integrate these many techniques and approaches, and enjoys uncovering the threads that unite them all. Bernadette teaches KAM, Energy Palpation, Shiatsu, Of Sound Body, and The Danse of Massage. Her areas of specialty are integrative massage and energy-based healing. She has a special interest in sound healing with advanced study in Biosonics Repatterning (tuning forks) and the Yoga of Voice. A student and performer of dance for many years, Bernadette loves all forms of movement.

What would you tell someone who is considering massage?
Be prepared to work hard, be focused, be available for self-reflection and expect a deeply rewarding and personally expansive life change with will guide you into an AMAZING profession that just keeps giving if you choose FLSM.
What is one thng you wish you had known before you became a massage therapist?
Book-keeping.
Name one person who has had an impact on your life and explain why.
Emile Conrad. Emile was a pioneer in Somatic Education & Movement Reeducation. I had the privilege of studying with her for many years before she passed. Her work called Continuum is an invitation to conect deeply with the innate intelligence of one’s own body as a resource for direct information., guidance and healing.
What is your favorite thing about teaching at FLSM and why?
I love the FLSM philosophy of creating a safe, supportive, fun environment that brings out the best in everyone personally and professionally.
Vacation… Beach, woods, desert, or mountains?
I love to snorkel in the Caribean waters of Mexico.

Describe your most significant interaction with a client or student.
After 30 years so many! But I’ll choose when I had an 86 year old woman who had suffered with chronic pain for years said after her 1st massage “I never knew I could feel so good in my body.”
